Book Sysnopsis
What happens when a family seeking answers encounters systems more committed to protecting themselves than uncovering the truth?
In 2007, thirteen-year-old Robyn Edwards suffered a catastrophic medical injury that forever changed the course of her life. Although physicians declared her brain-dead, she survived.
What followed was not only years of rehabilitation for Robyn, but also a relentless effort by her mother, Veverly Myers-Edwards, to seek answers and accountability through medical, legal, and governmental systems.
God’s Miracle Among Corruption in Idaho documents that journey through medical records, legal filings, expert opinions, correspondence, and personal testimony. The result is a powerful examination of patient safety, healthcare equity, disability, systemic barriers to justice, and the consequences families face when their voices are ignored.
Robyn’s Story
At age thirteen, Robyn Edwards was an honor student, athlete, artist, and active teenager with her entire future ahead of her.
Following a series of medical decisions that an expert witness later described as gross negligence, Robyn suffered a devastating stroke. According to the expert’s findings, the actions of the treating neurologist “took away any chances of her living a normal life.”
Despite being declared brain-dead, Robyn survived.
Her recovery required years of rehabilitation and continues today.
Through extraordinary determination, family support, and faith, Robyn’s story became one not only of survival, but of resilience and advocacy.
