Veverly Edwards is a graphic artist and English instructor based in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Memphis’ Master of Fine Arts – Creative Writing program with a concentration in Creative Nonfiction Writing and a certificate in African American Literature. Since graduating she’s taught English Composition, Creative Writing, and African American Literature at the University of Memphis and Southwest Community College. During this time, she also founded a nonprofit, The Arts Café. The mission of The Arts Café is to bring cultural arts to underserved communities. Her first publication, God’s Miracle Among Corruption in Idaho is a nonfiction documented account of the injustices her family endured in Idaho Falls in 2012. Her second publication is an essay “On More Than Conquering,” published in an anthology They Tried but Failed. Her third publication is an essay on her hometown “My Memphis My Home,” published by the National Folklife Network. She attended the Sequential Artist Year Long program and received a certificate in Comic/Graphic Writing, and working on a graphic memoir.

Veverly has a German Shepherd named Boss. He runs the house.
